Playa Langosta

If you want Tamarindo's restaurant scene without sleeping above it, Langosta is the standard answer. It's a few minutes south by car and, around low tide, a pleasant walk along the point.

The beach is rockier and more tidal than Tamarindo's main crescent — better for walking and sunsets than swimming at some tides. Surfers know Langosta for its rivermouth break, which is faster and hollower than anything on the main beach; it's a wave for intermediates and up, not first lessons.

There are no tour operators based in Langosta itself, and it doesn't matter: everything that serves Tamarindo picks up here, usually at no extra charge. Book anything from the Tamarindo inventory and tell the operator you're in Langosta.
