Shared or private?
On a shared sail you're on the boat with other groups, and it's the right call for most couples and families. A private charter gives your group the whole boat and a schedule you set, priced per charter rather than per person. It's worth it for celebrations or larger groups that would fill much of a shared boat anyway.

Boarding in Tamarindo or Flamingo
Tamarindo has no dock, so boats load from the beach and you should expect to wade or ride a small tender out. Flamingo, about 30 minutes north, has a marina. Many operators offer pickup in both towns, so choose by where you're staying and read the listing's meeting point.
What to bring
- Swimsuit under your clothes, a towel and a change for the ride home.
- Reef-safe sunscreen and a hat. There's little shade on the trampoline nets.
- A dry bag or zip bag for your phone. Beach boarding means wet feet at least.
